Who am I?

My name is Georg Engebakken I am a games developer, Technical artist and a Creative director of two game companies. I work as a game developer on a range of titles and platforms, both commercial and educational. I am highly profi cient in a wide range of games development software and development pipelines on PC, console and mobile gaming platforms.

I am a creative person and have worked closely with clients developing new IP, concepts and workfl ows. This means I have a great understanding of current games industry trends.

I inspire to use games as a medium for greater good. With a focus on social awareness games and media with the intended goal of raising awareness of social issues, and generate funds for charity

My Little Kingdom is a game where “players” take the roles of two children ages 4, and 6 one a victim of a civil war and the other sold as a child bride, and their life before ending up at a institution for refugees under the age of 15. It is an adventure game narrative designed to immerse, surprise, and at times shock the audience. This game is in early stages of development.

A Story About Depression is an interactive social experiment where you are engaging in a social media conversation with a person who is severely depressed. It is intended to be an educational tool highlighting red flags and warning signs so that people in a similar situation might reflect on the content and seek help as well as someone knowing someone in a similar situation can recognize warning signs and be informed about who to contact in this situation before it is too late.

I spent four months developing a pipeline and software extensions to produce 3D Meshes ready for 3D printing using Photogrammetric and trigonometric algorithms. I generated and did artistic passes on more than one thousand customers in the period from October 2015 to January 2016.

HeightGEN - Software Developer

HeightGEN is built around a DLA Algorithm. The DLA algorithm is a growth algorithm in which individual points (In my version Pixels) are added to a growing cluster in a diffusion like process starting from a cluster seed rendered on a 2 Dimensional plane. It is normally considered a random algorithm, however I have implemented rules based on the universal soil loss equation which allows it to procedurally generate scientifically accurate height maps on a pixel level.

CIO is a cancelled game developed by Oceloid Interactive, and published by 505 games exclusively for Xbox One. I was recruited as a technical artist on this project. After my contract on the project ended the game was unfortunately cancelled.
